Senior C++ Software Engineer

We’re teaming up with OANDA, a global leader in online trading, to expand our engineering operations right here in Prague. Through this partnership, our teams build the core, high-performance systems powering trading platforms used around the world.

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to take ownership of backend architecture and help drive OANDA’s core trading engines forward.

What you’ll do:

• Core Trading Infrastructure: Research, design, test, implement, deploy, and maintain online and backend trading and data services applications within a Linux environment.

• Architecture & Strategy: Collaborate closely with business and technical leadership to translate requirements into scalable, low-latency applications, systems, and programs.

• Risk & Analytics: Work with modern C++ and Python to build reliable solutions that improve profitability and power our in-house risk management platform.

• End-to-End Ownership: Shepherd features from creation to release, including maintaining and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.

• Mentorship & Support: Mentor junior team members and participate in an occasional on-call rotation (roughly once per month).
  

What do you bring to the table:

• Background: Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

• C++ Expertise: Solid application development experience in C++, with a strong understanding of multithreading, concurrency, data structures, and algorithms.

• Python Skills: Hands-on experience developing backend applications using Python.

• Software Engineering Standards: Deep knowledge of software design patterns, clean code principles, REST architectures, and microservices.

• Automation & Delivery: Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.

• Mindset: Strong team player with a continuous learning drive, adaptability to changing priorities, and high self-sufficiency.
  

Nice to haves:

• Experience with Linux OS administration, Kafka, Prometheus, and Grafana.

• Cloud exposure (GCP/GKE), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).

• Practical experience using AI tools (Claude, Gemini) to boost engineering productivity.
